My Holiday Face

One of the things I love most about going on holiday is that I can give my face a break from wearing make up. No man will ever understand the pleasure that taking off our make up at the end of a long day gives us will they? I tend to wear foundation and eye make up to work every day, so a holiday is the perfect chance to let my skin breathe and get back its glow. Plus, I find you don't need so much coverage when you're rocking a bit of a tan.

With that in mind, these are the products I wear during the evenings on holiday when I want to make a little bit of effort.

Concealer - Less is more. I use a tiny bit of the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer under my eyes and around my nose and leave the rest of the face free.

Bronzer - I don't go anywhere without a good bronzer. My two favourites are this Bourjois chocolate bronzer and the Sleek Face Form bronzer (although the latter may not be suitable for pale-skinned ladies).

Mascara - Time and time again I buy Maybelline the Falsies. Serious length, volume, no clumps, and all for less than £10. Is there anything that can beat it?

Eyeshadow - This Fake Bake palette has been seriously well loved. I love the bottom shade swept all over the lid, with the middle shade in the inner eye corners. It also doubles up as a great face highlighter. However as you can see it's almost all gone (boo) so I'd welcome any suggestions for other travel friendly eyeshadow palettes!

Lipgloss - This Maybelline Color Sensational lipgloss was a grower for me, but I love how it's non-sticky, the smell is inoffensive, and it's one you can apply without a mirror (or after half a bottle of Pinot - oops!)

A couple of nights in Portugal I wore quite plain, basic outfits, and so I wanted a little something extra going on with my make up. Enter the Bourjois Rouge Velvet lipsticks. My favourite is 'Hot Pepper', a bright orangey-red which looks perfect with an all black outfit for that extra sophistication. Plus it lasted through a plate of peri peri chicken, chips and salad and 4 glasses of wine. 10/10 in my books.

What's your holiday face? I've got a few more adventures in the pipeline so am always looking for new products to take away with me...
